Dear IOC delegates,
Rotterdam is proud to be hosting the IOC 2016, and to welcome you to the city. IOC 2016 has an engaging programme for you, and we trust that the knowledge, expertise and contacts that you gain during this event will be complemented by Rotterdam’s contemporary outlook, striking architectural skyline and the ‘work-hard, play-hard’ ethos of the local Rotterdamers!
A modern, cosmopolitan city of striking architecture, bursting with energy. Rotterdam’s dramatic skyline and its bold & colourful style give you a completely new perspective to Holland. With only a short 26 min train transfer from the major international hub of Schiphol International Airport, Rotterdam opens up the vibrant and dynamic side of Holland!
Everywhere within the compact city center is easy to reach, so you can really explore and discover Rotterdam, and get to know the city. An abundance of restaurants and cuisines; a good choice of hotels; a culturally exciting mix of galleries, museums and theatres; an array of cafes and bars and a renowned nightlife scene: Rotterdam gives you endless variety at every street corner!
The city offers you plenty to explore and discover, and we hope you’ll find out for yourself just why The New York Times and the Rough Guide have placed Rotterdam within their Top 10 ‘Must See’ lists!
With kind regards,
